How To Create An Ecard Invitation

Your eCard correspondence is a significant part of your guests' experience leading up to your big day. As such, you might want to send invitation eCards tailored to each of your wedding events, especially if you're inviting different guests to each event. Whether you want to send separate eCards for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, or another wedding-related gathering, you can easily do so with Joy.

Sending eCards for multiple events works almost the exact same way as sending invitations for a single event; you're just doing it multiple times.

The only difference: We recommend you make use of the Custom Card type for invitations to any events that are not your main event. This way, you can enter any date and location (not just the date and location of your main event).

Example: Rehearsal dinner

From your admin dashboard, click "Custom Card", or from your Guest List, click "Send …", and then Custom Card.

Designing the card

Designing the card works the same way here as shown in How to Edit and Send Save the Dates and Invitation E-Cards.

Editing the card details

With the custom card, here's where you can really customize the details. Let's say your rehearsal dinner is the Friday night before your Saturday ceremony.

In the "Edit card details" screen, you can type whatever you want for date and location, like this:

Editing the email

Editing the email works the same way here as shown in How to Edit and Send Save the Dates and Invitation E-Cards.

Selecting recipients

Here's where you can make use of Adding Guest List Labels to label certain guests something like "Rehearsal" to make it easy to address your email to the right people.

Click on the 'Select Guests' button:

In this example, the 'Rehearsal' label is checked, which automatically selects the guests with that label.

Sending the email and card

Sending the card works the same way here as shown in How to Edit and Send Save the Dates and Invitation E-Cards.

Repeat this process for all your events

You can then repeat this invitation process for each of your other wedding events. For example, you can…

Use an Invitation for your ceremony, which will automatically include your main event date and location
Use another Custom Card for your Sunday Brunch, and fill in the custom date and location just like we showed here for Rehearsal Dinner.
